The Artists of the British Army Postcard Collection.
This collection is produced from the large archive of material from the S.Kretchmer and R.G.Harris Collections. Artists other then Harry Payne & Richard Simkin (who already have extensive sets produced by us) are covered such as: Buckell, Hoynck, Dadd, Dadley, Heath, Hayes, Holloway, Hull, Scott, Ibbetson, O’Beirne, Clayton, Lloyd, Sharp, Stewart, Reynolds, Caton Woodvill, Wollen, Wymer, Norie, J.Charlton, Martens, E.A.Campbell and many others.
The subjects covered are not always the "main stream" interests or periods such as Waterloo, WWI & WWII but more than this, periods of Regimental interest ie. how the dress & uniforms developed, early engravings, illustrations of campaign dress etc. which is why this series will appeal to the Regimental/Uniform researcher/collector, modeller etc.
Almost all this material is "unpublished" which means that neither in our collection (Coloured Military Types, Regimental Types etc) or in any book or magazines or other postcard collections have these images appeared. The subjects appeared as Postcards, Posters, Prints, Greetings cards, Military Scraps, Engravings, original paintings and other sources.
Due to the subject material being so wide ranging and the subjects/Regiments covered so varied it is not possible here to publish the full lists of the contents of each set so if you require further details please send 4 x 1st Class Stamps or 4 I.R.C.’s to the address given.
The collection now consists of 20 sets of 35 cards per set. Each set costs £25.00 plus postage ( the weight of each set for the calculation of postage is 250gms), and new sets are being issued on a regular basis.
